Marvel Heroes (2015) Loses its CEO.. -News

Source

Marvel Heroes has lost its CEO and is now in-search for a replacement. David Brevik has been the CEO of Gazillion for over 6 and a half years! And has now left to search for some "new opportunities" in his own words. Marvel Heroes is an MMO that has grown quite popular over the years and is being played by over 1 million+ players each month.

David Brevik was the President of the worldly famous Diablo for over 11 years before moving to Gazillion and in the years he has worked with Gazillion he says that it was the "best experience of his life". Is this the end of Marvel Heroes? Or will they find a replacement and continue making an extremely fun multiplayer experience?

"David has played an integral role in the growth and success of Gazillion, most notably leading the development of the acclaimed Marvel Heroes 2015--and we greatly appreciate his many contributions to the game and the community." -Gazillion

"Creating Marvel Heroes has been a work of passion for over six years, It was my first opportunity to work on a live-service product and interact with our amazing community and it has been one of the best experiences of my life. I'm very proud of all the work our talented team has done together. Though the time has come for me to move on, I'm excited about the future of Marvel Heroes and look forward to what’s next from studio director Jeff Lind and the team." -David Brevik

Marc Laidlaw Has Confirmed that he has left Valve -News

Source

The Man that made Half-life and Half-life 2 has finally confirmed that he has retired from Valve and has no plans on making Half-Life 3 and has no idea what Valve is going to do about the whole situation.

Half-life is the beloved series by all gamers world-wide, and the third installment of the game was awaited by many for years, but now that the retirement is confirmed the disappointment of the gaming community is evident on Reddit and Twitter.

"I am no longer a full or part time Valve employee, no longer involved in day to day decisions or operations, no longer a spokesman for the company, no longer privy to most types of confidential information, no longer working on any Valve games in any capacity." -Marc Laidlaw---"I'm old, or anyway oldish. My nickname when I first started at Valve in 1997 was "Old Man Laidlaw." The baby level designer who gave me that nickname is older now than I was then. Imagine how much older I am! [...] I had a good run but lately I have been feeling the need for a break from the collaborative chaos of game production, and a return to more self-directed writing projects."

Thoughts on Oculus Rift Price -Gist

My Opinion:

The Oculus Rift is a fantastic gadget that is innovating and showing us a glimpse into the future of gaming for the generations to come: with many big brands producing their own variant of the VR headset; with one of the most popular being the Sony VR.

What Can you expect from the Oculus Rift? Its an experience that comes with a price. The Oculus has blown a lot of gamers minds at E3 events and has been a major part of the Youtube Gaming industry lately, with its specific games that are made by indie developers and are free for use. The Oculus will let gamers that have the $$$ to experience gaming from a new standard/angle, the feeling that you are sucked into a game and play with a controller, is something that gamers have been wanting for a while now and that dream is now a reality, A Virtual Reality! (Game Theorist Joke)

Lets talk about the Pricing, The price is quite high for a gadget, at $599, it is not something that is affordable by all, the CEO of Project Oculus has came out and talked about soon reducing the price for those that cannot afford it, since it is now more expensive than the current generation consoles PS4 and Xbox One. From my View i think it should be reduced to like $299 I know that is a huge decrease from the original price, but if the company expect people to buy their product they have to reduce it to an affordable price for all.

(Or Just wait for the Sony VR! hhaahah)

Square Enix Shuts down Its Cloud Project -News

Source

The Shinra Technologies Project was first revealed in early 2014 but two years later the project did not receive enough funds from third-party companies to continue the vision. The idea of the cloud, was that many developers can use the cloud to develop new games using the Square Enix engine. The Community thought that SE would take advantage of this and take control of the games that are being developed (but i guess now we will never know).

"STI, as a cloud platform operator, has been trying to raise funds necessary for further business operations from third party investors. However, STI has found no prospective investors at this point, and therefore has to discontinue its business."-Yoichi Wada (Former SE President)

Rise of the Tomb Raider release date for the PC "Master Race" -News

Source

Square Enix has announced that the PC version of RoTR will be released on the 28th of January. Which is great news for the people that play on that platform ( Me! :D), it was also mentioned that the game supports 4K on Pc to give it that extra crispiness that the stunning game deserves. And with the modding community on PC expect great graphics mods that will make the game look 10x better than it was intended to be. Square Enix also revealed the minimum specs that are required. Pretty Self explanatory for a game of such advanced graphical capability.

PC Minimum Specifications:
  • OS: Windows 7 64bit
  • Processor: Intel Core i3-2100 or AMD equivalent
  • GPU: NVIDIA GTX 650 2 GB or AMD HD7770 2 GB

  • Input: Mouse + Keyboard
By the way this picture below is in 4K on PC :0

Assassins Creed is going Further back in Time -Rumor

Source

There was a release by one of the developers at Ubisoft on 4chan stating that the Assassin's Creed Team will be taking a year off to work on Assassins Creed Empire, which according to leaks is going to be set in Ancient Egypt, which in fact will be the oldest time in the games history.

If the rumors are true we are going to have a game that we have been wanting for years, going back to the times we would actually like to explore and imerse our time into. I myself am a huge Assassin's Creed fan and will support them no matter what, and will especially praise them if the rumors are true and this game is a reality.
